WordCamp Philly Dilly Dilly is Back!

WordCamp Philly 2017 - by Reed Gustow

The newly expanded organizing team is super happy to announce that WordCamp Philly 2018 will be Saturday and Sunday, October 27-28, 2018! We’re already so much further along in planning than we were last year, so we’re excited to share what’s we have so far:

Location: For the third consecutive WordCamp Philly, we will be at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. It’s a wonderful modern facility. The event will be spread over a few different buildings, all within a short walking distance of each other. There is free parking on campus. Public transportation is also available. We’ll share more details in a future blog post.

Talks + Panels: The main event is on Saturday, October 27. It’s a full day of talks and panels on a wide variety of topics. To be clear, we’re still working this up, so there may or may not be any panels. Regardless, all presentations, talks, and organized discussions will take place on Saturday, October 27.

Contributor Day: On Sunday, October 28, we’ll have a Contributor Day, also at the fantastic campus of University of the Sciences. We’re working very hard to make Contributor Day even more welcoming and valuable to people new to the WordPress community, so please be sure to make plans to attend both days.

Child Care: We will be offering free child care in the day during WordCamp. We are tentatively planning to offer it from 8 am to 5 pm. We’re still working out the details, but this we know for sure: All day care needs to be submitted at least six weeks in advance of the WordCamp weekend. We’ll share more details soon, but please be sure to let us know your child care needs early.

Captioning: We will provide on-site CART services for all major presentation tracks at WordCamp Philly, as we did last year. Again, we’re still in the planning stages, but know that we will at least offer the same level of CART services this year as we provided last year.

Accessibility and Other Needs: WordCamp Philly is a WordPress-focused conference open to all people. We want all people who want to attend WordCamp Philly to be able to attend. If you have accessibility or other needs that we can help address so that you can attend, please let us know.

Code of Conduct: WordCamp Philly believes our community should be truly open for everyone. As such, we are committed to providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, ethnicity, religion, preferred operating system, programming language, or text editor. We have a code of conduct –- and we expect everyone attending WordCamp Philly to abide by it.

Call for Speakers: As cool as it would be to announce our call for speakers, we’re not ready to do so. Rest assured that we’re gearing up for that now. Subscribe to updates to be sure to know when we open the call.

Call for Volunteers: We will indeed be recruiting volunteers again this year. We have not yet sounded the call for volunteers yet, but when we’re ready for that, we’ll announce it on this website. Be sure to subscribe to updates to be sure to know when that happens.

As we finalize details around accommodation, food, and more, we’ll be sure to post the information here. In the meantime, be sure to get your tickets now and subscribe for updates.

Save these Dates: October 27-28, 2018
