Within the WordPress community, we are beginning to see a need to better support our children with the challenges of autism and related issues, particularly as they grow into adults.

At 1:30 pm October 27, the WordCamp Philly panel “Creating Inclusive Workplaces: What Tech Communities Are Doing to Support Employees with Autism and Related Challenges”  will focus on how the tech community can create systems that enable people with autism and related challenges to flourish professionally.

The panelists and moderator will be tech and medical professionals from outside of the WordPress community, with an eye to sharing what other technologists are already doing.

Panelists include:

  • Peg Monaghan, Program Consultant – Autism at Work Development, SAP
  • John Herrington, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
  • Daniel Koval, Corporate Initiatives Manager, Bentley Systems
  • Frank Buttaro, III, Senior Account Manager, New Horizons Computer Learning Centers, will be the moderator.
